tugas 3 (conditional)

      THE IMPACT OF TELEVISION

The TV companies say if you don't like it, switch it off. well, by the time you realise you don't like it, it's too late to switch it off. anyway, most people are passive viewiers  - they don't care what they watch. The worst problm is the effect on children. They are easily influenced by TV because they enjoy it, but they can't judge what's true or false and so they tend to believe everything they see. in fact, television programmes are full of lies. If children believe that the violence and debauchery they see on TV is typical of the real world, they will become indiifferent to it, or worse still, they will copy it.

I propose to establish a television censorship board with powers to revoke broadcasting licences. this board would investigate all complaints received from the public and would judge programmes based on a fixed standard. in each where a programme was judged to be violent or ponograpic, a $10,000 fine would be imposed. if any company commits such offences five times in any one year, their licence will be cancelled.
